REPAIR OF BLACKOUT WARNING SYSTEM
12-1. General.
The blackout warning system is intended to warn
personnel in the shelter to turn off the lights in the
shelter before the shelter door is opened during a
blackout. The system consists of a blackout warning
buzzer, located directly above the electrical control box
against the inside of the right rear wall, and a blackout
buzzer warning pushbutton located on the rear outside
wall to the left of the shelter door.
12-2. Blackout Warning System.
a. Blackout Warning Buzzer.
(1)
Inspection. If the blackout warning
buzzer is not activated when the switch is depressed,
inspect/test the buzzer as follows:
(a) Position blackout buzzer circuit
breaker in main power service box to on.
(b) Remove the screws that attach the
buzzer cover to the base and remove the cover. (See
fig. 12-1.)
